About Us
At Interaction Associates, we are in the business of helping clients achieve greater and more sustainable levels of business Return on Investment by concentrating on a different ROI — Return on Involvement. We're proud of our four decades of experience helping clients develop their most critical asset: The folks who show up every day to make it happen.
We build collaborative work cultures by developing leaders who involve employees to share responsibility for success. We're famous for an enthusiasm and a special expertise at fostering collaboration, cultivating great teams, developing successful leaders, and coaching individual performance.
We stress a critical principle for achieving excellent ROI: Involved employees share in the responsibility to deliver strong results. In other words, we know that deeply engaged employees and a collaborative culture of shared responsibility for success leads to impressive business results. Said more pointedly, from the employees' perspective, in highly collaborative and engaged workplaces: We care. We have skin in the game. We deliver results.

Our history

We wrote the books on group process, facilitation, and building collaborative cultures: How to Make Meetings Work by our co-founders David Straus and Michael Doyle; and How to Make Collaboration Work by David Straus. Our legacy of innovation continues today in the development of collaborative approaches to coaching, leadership and team development, and change management.
IA is proud to be wholly owned by its employees through its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), an ownership structure that has been shown to increase production and profitability, and improve employees' engagement and sense of ownership.
In 1993, IA became the first firm of its kind to found a non-profit institute. We help fund the IISC and employees volunteer their time and talents to furthering its mission.
