Andrew Black, Ph.D.

Andrew is an Organization Development (OD) expert, helping companies develop increased capacity to fulfill their missions. His special talent is to mobilize groups toward critical business-focused outcomes. He has extensive experience as a facilitator of complex, high stakes meetings and trains other consultants to develop their facilitation skills.

Andrew is a masterful group facilitator and in-person and virtual classroom learning leader. Since joining Interaction Associates, he has also held senior leadership responsibilities and contributed to our instructional design by developing courses in teamwork, meeting management, coaching, e-learning, and web-based program design. Other areas of expertise include leadership development, strategic planning, values clarification, and team building.

In addition to his work as a consultant, Andrew is an accomplished playwright and has had several plays produced across the United States. This creative work helped develop his expert storytelling skills and powers his ability to develop compelling narratives in the service of business outcomes.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV from Indiana University, a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University, and a Master of Fine Arts in playwriting from Ohio University. In May of 2023, Andrew completed his Ph.D. in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Andrew's extensive client experience includes engagements with AT&T, Apple, Genentech, Sephora, DuPont, Pacific Gas and Electric, Nordstrom, The Gap, UC-SF, and KPMG.

Barry Rosen

Barry says his job is to enable associates to make informed decisions and provide services that help clients achieve their day-to-day objectives and realize their highest aspirations.

With 35 years in the learning and performance improvement industry, Barry has led projects at dozens of companies, including General Electric, Celanese, McKinsey, Progressive Insurance, Charles Schwab, Exelon, and Capital One.

Barry has facilitated meetings with the Democratic Congressional Caucus, the Carter Center, and with the Dalai Lama in Dharmsala, India. He is the developer of much of Interaction Associates' intellectual content, including leadership, teamwork, and facilitation learning programs.

Barry is also a co-founder of the Interaction Institute for Social Change, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to racial justice and equity, and to advancing the practice of citizen democracy. Through the Institute, Barry trained dozens of consultants in Israel to teach Facilitative Leadership®  to Jewish and Palestinian leaders in the service of advancing civil society, cross-cultural tolerance, and progressive social change.

Barry’s favorite IA practice is Celebrate Accomplishment. He likes to catch people in the act of doing good things and doing things well. He is currently assembling the next generation of IA leaders and practitioners to bring The Interaction Method™ to companies and communities around the world.

Barry holds a B.A. in Political Philosophy from Trinity College, Hartford CT, and an M.A. in Urban Planning from University of California, Berkeley.
